Join the free tester group
Tap Join group on Google’s page, then confirm. Use the Google account you use in the Play Store.
You can choose No email. Already a member? Tap “I’ve joined” below.

Accept the beta invitation
Tap Become a tester on Google’s page. When it says You are a tester, you’re ready to download.

Use the same Google account. Then come back to this tab.

Download QuietDrive
Open Google Play on your Android phone and tap Install. Already have it? Tap Update or Open.
Didn’t work? “Item not found” in Google Play
- Switch the Play Store account. This is the usual cause: your browser and the Play Store app can be signed in to different Google accounts. In the Play Store app, tap your profile picture (top right) and choose the account you joined with. Not listed? Tap Add another account. Then tap Open Google Play above again.
- Give Google a little time. New testers can take from a few minutes to a few hours to appear. Stay in the group and the test; you don’t need to leave and rejoin.
- Refresh the Play Store. In your phone’s Settings, go to Apps → Google Play Store → Storage and tap Clear cache. Then try again.
Still stuck? Contact us with your phone model, Android version and Play Store country. Never send your password.
No car? No problem.
In the app, tap Explore with sample data. No sign-in needed.
Keep the same Google account selected in your browser and Play Store.
Can’t join or become a tester?
If the invitation says you’re not eligible, open the Google Group with the same Google account and check you’re a member. Already in QuietDrive’s internal test? You must leave that test before joining this closed beta.
Google says You are a tester but Play shows “Item not found”? Your signup has succeeded. Open QuietDrive in Google Play (opens in a new tab) and see Didn’t work? in step 3.
Still stuck? Contact us with your phone model, Android version and Play Store country so we can check availability. Never send your password.
No car? Try the demo. Tap Explore with sample data on the app’s sign-in screen. Try vehicle readings, charging costs, ownership records and sample trips. Demo controls are simulated; no car is contacted.
Please use the app, share your feedback and stay enrolled for at least 14 days if you can. This helps us test QuietDrive before a wider release. Joining the Google Group alone does not enrol you in the Play test.

A few useful things.
How do I try QuietDrive?
On iPhone, open the iOS button, install Apple’s TestFlight app if prompted, and accept the QuietDrive beta invitation. You’ll need iOS 26 or later. On Android 9 or later, join the Google Group, then accept the Google Play test invitation using the same account. No individual email invitation is needed. Both apps let you explore sample data before connecting an MG account.
Will it work with my MG?
QuietDrive is designed for MG cars connected through iSMART. Choose the country and region for your MG account when signing in. Model, equipment and regional support are still being tested, so individual features may be unavailable. Get in touch if you’re unsure.
Is the beta free?
Yes. All features are free during the beta. Pricing for the full release has not been announced.
What about vehicle controls and the 12 V battery?
Supported controls depend on your car and region and require approval in the app. Requests use MG’s services and can wake the car. QuietDrive includes request limits and 12 V precautions, but they cannot guarantee battery safety. Experimental features shown in screenshots may not work on every car.
