QuietDrive terms of use

Updated 16 October 2026.

About these terms

These terms apply when you use QuietDrive, including the iPhone app, the website and the services behind them. QuietDrive is operated by Minhazul Karim (Minhaz) (“we”, “us”). By using QuietDrive you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. Questions: minhazulkarim26@gmail.com.

Who can use QuietDrive

You must be at least 18, use your own MG account, and own the car or have the owner’s permission to use it with QuietDrive.

An independent, unofficial app

QuietDrive is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by MG or SAIC Motor, or by any car maker or dealer, and they don’t support it. MG is a trademark of its owner. Car images in the app are illustrative and may not match your car’s exact model, colour or trim.

QuietDrive works by signing in to MG’s online services with your MG account, using connections MG has not published for other apps. MG can change, limit or stop those services at any time, and features may stop working without warning. MG usually lets only one app stay signed in to an account, so signing in to QuietDrive can sign you out of the MG iSMART app.

You are responsible for your MG account and for checking that using QuietDrive is acceptable under MG’s terms. MG could limit or suspend an account it believes is used by other apps. When you ask QuietDrive to read your car or send a command, you authorise us to do that through your MG account on your behalf.

Creating an MG account and linking a car

If you create an MG account or link a car through QuietDrive, MG’s own terms and privacy notice apply to that account and car. Only link a car you own or have the owner’s permission to use. Linking can fail, or MG may take time to show the car; check your linked cars in the MG iSMART app if you are unsure.

Readings and estimates

Vehicle readings come from MG and may be late, wrong or missing. Charging costs, energy figures, range, trip plans, charger listings and service reminders are estimates. Check your car and official sources before relying on them, especially before a journey.

Remote controls and your 12 V battery

Locks, climate, defrost, seat heating, charge limit, lights and horn commands can fail, partly work or arrive late, and the app may not always show the true result. Seat heating and the charge limit are new and have not yet been confirmed to work on a real car; check the limit your car shows before relying on it for a trip. Always check yourself that your car is locked and safe. Controls need Face ID on your iPhone and are offered only where MG’s service for your region allows them. Don’t use QuietDrive while driving.

Every reading or command can wake the car and use its 12 V battery. Heavy use can drain it so the car won’t start. QuietDrive warns you after heavy use, may pause requests until you confirm the battery is fine, and stops contacting the car after a low 12 V reading until you check the battery or choose to continue. These are best-effort precautions, not guarantees. If you choose to continue after a warning, you accept that risk.

Automatic checks are optional and off by default. If you turn them on, QuietDrive’s server wakes and reads your car at the interval you choose, whether or not you open the app, which uses its 12 V battery while it is parked and can flatten or damage it. QuietDrive starts them only after a healthy recent 12 V reading and stops them on a low or falling 12 V reading, a failed check, or after days without driving or charging, but these precautions are based on a small beta and are not guarantees. By turning them on you accept that risk, including a car that won’t unlock or start and any recovery, battery or repair costs.

Don’t rely on QuietDrive for security, emergencies or anything where a failure could cause harm. In an emergency, contact emergency or roadside services directly.

Keyless start (experimental)

Keyless start uses your car’s MG Bluetooth Digital Key. It is experimental and has not yet been confirmed to work on a real car. Use it only while you are sitting inside your parked car, and keep your normal car key with you. Your car decides whether to allow its drive system to start; follow its usual brake and start-button steps. Never use keyless start while driving, or anywhere starting the car could put someone at risk.

Setting up keyless start puts a Bluetooth key for your car on your iPhone, so keep your iPhone locked and secure. Signing out of QuietDrive removes the key from your iPhone, but QuietDrive can’t cancel it at MG: manage your keys in the MG iSMART app. Setting up a new key can contact your car and use its 12 V battery.

Your account and fair use

Keep your phone and sign-in secure. You are responsible for what is done through your account. Don’t use QuietDrive on cars you aren’t allowed to use, try to break, overload, copy or get around the limits of our service, use it to break the law or harm anyone, or resell it.

QuietDrive Premium

Premium is sold through Apple’s App Store. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms, and you can manage your subscription in your iPhone’s settings. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Because QuietDrive depends on MG’s services, we can’t promise that any particular feature will work for every car or keep working.

Provided as it is

QuietDrive is in active development and is provided “as is” and “as available”. It may have bugs or be unavailable, and we may change, pause or stop any part of it at any time. Keep your own copies of anything important; you can export your records in the app.

Our responsibility to you

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for:

As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim or £50.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights these terms do not affect.

Ending

You can stop using QuietDrive at any time. In the app, Account → Remove MG sign-in from QuietDrive deletes your saved MG sign-in and keeps your history, and Account → Delete QuietDrive account deletes your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, to protect a car, the service or other users, or if access to MG’s services ends.

Privacy

Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

Changes and law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and claims can be brought in its courts. If you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or the EU, you can also bring claims in your local courts and you keep the protections of your local law.
